Former Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez is returning to the Department. Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava announcing today Ramirez will be a Senior Advisor for policing and transition.Interim Director Stephanie Daniels will become the permanent director, the first woman and first Black woman to lead the agency.
Ramirez has been recovering from a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound from an incident in July in Tampa.
Ramirez will start his new position in late January.
