Miami, FL - A former school secretary at a South Florida high school has been arrested on allegations of attempting to initiate a romantic relationship with a student.
Vanessa Vigil, a former secretary at Miami Killian Senior High School, was arrested on Wednesday.
According to Miami-Dade Schools police, the victim, who worked as a student office aide, alleged that Vigil had made inappropriate advances toward him for roughly three weeks.
The advances included soliciting his phone number, making affectionate remarks, inappropriate physical contact, and even telling him, "I love you."
During a September 21st incident, as the victim bent over to retrieve a dropped pencil, Vigil stood behind him and tapped his lower back with her nails, telling the student "I would have bagged you if I was in high school with you."
Vigil also gave the student a "dirty pizza slice key chain" that was attached to her house keys and asked for his phone number.
In one instance, Vigil touched the student's face with both hands, called him "so handsome," and expressed her love for him.
During another incident, Vigil asked the student to follow her to a storage closet in the main office, where she touched his buttocks.
The events left the student uncomfortable and led to a panic attack in a bathroom.
Witnesses corroborated the victim's accounts to police and Vigil was taken into custody.
While speaking with investigators, Vigil claimed that the student had been the one flirting with her, despite admitting to giving him the key chain.
She was arrested on charges of battery and offenses against a student.
