Fort Lauderdale, FL - A South Florida man has been taken into custody after allegedly raping an intoxicated man in Wilton Manors last weekend.
According to the Wilton Manors Police Department, the victim reported that he'd been sexually assaulted on his own couch and became aware of the assault after reviewing video footage taken from inside his home.
Police say that the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Andrew Dennis Tifft, accompanied the intoxicated victim back to his Wilton Manors home, where the victim passed out on his couch.
While the victim was unconscious, several video clips revealed Tifft engaging in sexual assault on the victim, who allegedly did not give consent for the act.
Tifft informed law enforcement that he and the victim had engaged in similar activities in the past, citing that the victim had been highly intoxicated during those instances.
Wilton Manors Police Department Detective Bonnie Owens documented that Tifft "admitted to having sex with the victim even though the victim was highly intoxicated."
Court records indicate that a judge found probable cause to charge Tifft with sexual battery on Friday.
As of Friday night, Tifft was no longer listed in Broward County jail records.
