U.S. Army veteran and Palm City resident John Rourke is headed to Texas to help cleanup the Border with Mexico.
He says immigrants have left behind mountains of trash.
Rourke, who owns a moving company in Jupiter, says he can't just sit idly by and watch. He says migrants cross the Rio Grande River with trash bags containing dry clothes. After they cross into Texas, they take off their wet clothing, discard it on the ground and put on the dry clothes.
This makes the fourth year that he has done a trash cleanup. In previous years, he went to inner-city Baltimore, Maryland and Del Rio and Eagle Pass, Texas.
Rourke also donates money to the sheriff's office in the county where he picks up trash to help pay overtime for deputies.
On Monday, he will present law enforcement in Brownsville with a check for at least $20,000.
