Broward parents and students expected to sound off on the proposed clear backpack policy during a School Safety Town Hall tonight. School Board Member Sarah Leonardi says she's heard from dozens of parents upset over the possible mandate. The proposal would only allow clear backpacks and lunch boxes on school grounds with exceptions for athletic and band equipment plus personal hygiene items. The School Board will hold a workshop tomorrow ahead of a final vote next month.
