Miami Beach, FL - Singer DaniLeigh, known for her music career and past relationship with rapper DaBaby, was arrested for a felony hit-and-run after allegedly driving drunk and colliding with a moped rider in South Beach.
The singer, whose real name is Danielle Leigh Curiel, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after driving a Mercedes-Benz G550 down Washington Avenue, recklessly maneuvering through traffic and colliding with a moped rider near 11th Street.
After striking the moped, Curiel continued driving, dragging the scooter for a block before being apprehended by officers from the Miami Beach Police Department.
After initially refusing to stop, Curiel was eventually pulled over by an officer near 16th Street.
Police reported detecting an odor of alcohol in Curiel's SUV and observed her motor skills to be sluggish.
Curiel claimed she had not consumed any alcohol and denied striking anyone, stating that she was returning from a Memorial Day party when the accident occurred.
However, a breathalyzer test revealed her blood alcohol level to be 0.145% and 0.148%, almost twice the legal limit.
Authorities also discovered an empty bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila in her vehicle.
The moped rider sustained significant injuries, including a kidney laceration and spinal fracture.
Alongside the felony hit-and-run charge, Curiel also faces two citations for driving under the influence.
