Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Drug Sales and Trafficking

Lee County, FL - A Southwest Florida man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling drugs to undercover detectives last year.

Dion Hodge, a resident of Lee County, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison following his involvement in drug sales and trafficking activities.

The State Attorney's Office confirmed that Hodge sold drugs on two separate occasions to undercover detectives from Cape Coral in March of 2022.

During the initial encounter with the detectives, Hodge conducted a transaction where he sold and delivered cocaine from his truck.

Hodge then engaged in another sale, this time offering fentanyl and cocaine to an undercover detective.

Law enforcement officials later conducted a search of Hodge's vehicle, resulting in the discovery of 36.2 grams of cocaine, 11.1 grams of fentanyl, a scale believed to be utilized for measuring drugs, and a rifle along with 19 rounds of ammunition.

Hodge's conviction includes two counts of fentanyl trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and sale and possession with intent.

Additionally, Hodge received a separate five-year prison term for cocaine possession in an unrelated case.

Officers with the Cape Coral Police Department found cocaine in Hodge's vehicle during a routine traffic stop.

Hodge will serve both sentences concurrently, meaning that the terms will be served simultaneously rather than consecutively.

As part of his sentencing, Hodge is also required to cover the costs associated with the drug investigation conducted by the Cape Coral Police Department.

Upon his release from prison, Hodge will face an additional consequence of having his driver's license suspended for a period of six months.
