Two Teens Accused of Threats Against High School Near Tampa

TAMPA -- Hillsborough deputies arrest two 14-year-olds who go to middle school, saying they posted pictures of weapons with a threat of violence at Bloomingdale High School.

Deputies say Alex Moraguez and Denis Herrera confessed to the threats and face second-degree felony charges. They say the teens don't have an obvious connection to the school.

The Snapchat posts included threats of "a new 9-11" with MK-47s aiming for the school Monday morning. Detectives believe the teens used stock photos and don't actually have access to an arsenal.

"The arrest of these individuals should serve as a warning to anyone who thinks they can make threats on social media without consequences," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
