TAMPA -- State transportation and port officials are meeting in Tampa Thursday and Friday to talk about keeping Florida gasoline flowing in emergency situations.
A notice from the Florida Ports Council says "leaders from Florida's top energy infrastructure stakeholders" are discussing using data to speed recovery "post event," as in after a hurricane. It says the workshop will "take lessons from recent performance and build a new way of collaborating" in emergency events.
The meeting was scheduled well in advance but follows recent disruptions in supply when flooding affected the Port Everglades terminal. That contributed to a spike in prices around the state as other supplies were trucked in, according to Triple-A.
