Man Arrested For Threatening to Shoot People While Searching for Female

Bonita Springs, FL - A man was arrested in Southwest Florida last week after threatening to shoot three people while searching for a female companion.

According to reports, the incident happened on March 25th when Joshua Shope went on an anger-fueled rampage after losing track of a female acquaintance in Bonita Springs.

Police say Shope approached a group of three friends and aggressively demanded to know the whereabouts of the woman.

When the friends were unable to provide an answer, Shope pulled out a firearm and pointed it in their faces.

Shope's rage continued to escalate as he turned the gun on a neighbor who attempted to intervene.

Shope then directed his attention back to the three friends, threatening to unleash his dog on them, before knocking one of the men to the ground with a closed fist.

During the attack, the female acquaintance that Shope was looking for received alarming messages from him.

Shope talked about using his 9mm gun to shoot the woman and her friends, including their grandmother.

The group of friends contacted authorities and Shope was taken into custody.

He's been charged with four counts of aggravated assault without intent to kill, battery, and intimidation.
