Man Arrested For Threatening to Kill Florida Sheriff on 4Chan

San Diego, CA - A California man has been arrested for threatening to kill a Florida Sheriff after the FBI traced his threats on the website 4chan.

According to investigators, Tyler Meyer, a 30-year-old Californian, has been arrested by the San Diego Police Department for threatening to kill Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood.

The FBI traced the threat, which was made via an anonymous post on the political board 4chan.

Investigators seized several guns, ammunition and electronics from Meyer’s home.

Sheriff Chitwood has faced criticism from certain groups for his condemnation of antisemitic demonstrations in the county, resulting in him and his family receiving threatening or harassing messages from multiple sources.

This is not the first threat made against Sheriff Chitwood in recent weeks.

On March 13th, Richard Golden was arrested in New Jersey for making a similar threat against him and was extradited to Florida.

Meyer is charged with making a written threat to kill or injure and is expected to be extradited to Volusia County.
