Orlando, FL - A man's been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Sonic restaurant drive-thru in Central Florida that left a teenage girl injured.

On Tuesday, 40-year-old Albert Jason Cortes Jr. was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred at a Sonic restaurant in Orlando, which left a teenage girl wounded.

Cortes, from Eustis, was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm after Orlando police were called to the restaurant on March 8th and found a teenage girl lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to her upper right leg.

According to an arrest affidavit, an argument broke out when a man and a woman were ordering food at the drive-thru, and the man threw a drink at some workers.

The man then punched the manager and began fighting with other employees, including the teen girl, before firing several gunshots and fleeing the scene.

Cortes was positively identified as the culprit after an investigation by authorities.

During Cortes’ first appearance before a judge, his attorney stated that he had no prior criminal offenses and had lived in the area for 20 years.

The judge ordered Cortes to be released on a $10,000 bond but ordered that he cannot have any contact with the victim, cannot possess any weapons, and is not permitted to return to the Sonic restaurant.
