Results are coming in from the municipal elections in 17 Palm Beach County cities, towns and villages.

In Atlantis, incumbent Council member Michael LaCoursiere wins re-election over Paul Mozen.

The race for Seat A on the Belle Glade City Commission goes to Zayteck Marin and Seat B incumbent Steve Wilson wins re-election.

There were no races in Boca Raton because the mayor and two Council members were automatically re-elected without opposition, but there was a ballot referendum. Voters, by a 59 to 41 percent margin, said they do NOT want to extend terms for council members from 3 years to four.

In Boynton Beach, the race for City Commission District 2 heads to a runoff with incumbent Woodrow Hay and Mack McCray as the top two vote-getters out of four candidates. McCray is ahead with 42 percent of the vote to Hay's 36 percent, but nobody got the 50 percent-plus one vote to win the race outright. That runoff will be held on March 28.

In Boynton Beach's District 4 race, incumbent Aimee Kelley defeats two challengers.

An incumbent is beaten out in Delray Beach. City Commissioner Juli Casale is defeated by challenger Rob Long, who gets 53 percent of the vote in Seat 2.

The race for the open Seat 4 goes to Angela Burns over Angie Gray.

There were two bond referendums in Delray Beach, one for parks and one for public safety and both get enough votes to pass.

In the Town of Highland Beach, incumbent Commissioner John Shoemaker is defeated by challenger Don Peters, while Judith Goldberg wins a three-way race for an open seat.

Voters in Hypoluxo chose to re-elect three incumbents, Bob Leupp, Linda Allen and Brad Doyle.

In Juno Beach, Marianne Hosta wins a three-way race for open Seat 1 on the Town Council.

Also, voters overwhelmingly pass a citizen-initiated ballot referendum that will have them choosing the mayor from here on out, instead of the Council appointing one. It also means the mayor's term will be for two years.

In Lake Clark Shores, incumbent Paul Shalhoub loses his Town Council seat to Jon Maples.

The Lake Park Town Commission race is won by Judith Thomas.

Incumbent Mark Zeitler wins his Group 3 Lantana Town Council race and Christopher Castle defeats John Raymer in the Group 4 race for an open seat.

The ballot referendum in Lantana gets enough support to win. Voters have decided to amend the Charter for future elections to allow for a plurality vote, rather than a majority, to avoid runoffs.

In the Town of Mangonia Park, incumbent Town Council member Edward Smith is defeated by challenger Lisa Davis-Quince.

Ocean Ridge Town Commission incumbent Martin Wiescholek wins re-election and Carolyn Cassidy gets another seat. Incumbent Susan Hurlburt was beaten out.

In the Town of Palm Beach Shores, incumbent Tracy Larcher and Mark Ward win seats on the Town Commission. Incumbent Commissioner Janet Kortenhaus lost her bid for re-election.

Palm Springs incumbent Joni Brinkman wins her bid for re-election to the Village Council.

There were three races in the City of South Bay. Incumbents Esther Berry and Taranza McKelvin win their respective races in Seats 1 and 3. Albert Polk IV wins the race for open Seat 5.

In the Village of Tequesta, there were no races no the ballot, but plenty of questions for voters.

A bond referendum was voted down. Meanwhile, there was a mix of results in the six other questions on the ballot:

Question 1 - No

Question 2 - Yes

Question 3 - No

Question 4 - Yes

Question 5 - Yes

Question 6 - Yes

Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link says it was a smooth election across the county, but turnout was lower than average.

Just over 12.64 percent of registered voters turned out, including mail-in ballots. That's down from nearly 19 percent in last year's municipal elections.
