A Boynton Beach community activist is still hospitalized with broken bones after being struck by a car while leaving a candlelight vigil.
70-year old Bishop Bernard Wright was walking away from the vigil for a teen who died in a dirt bike crash a year earlier when the hit and run occurred Monday night.
"As someone who is a friend of Bishop Bernard, I'm asking them and pleading with them to turn themselves in."
Bryce Graham tells CBS 12 News that he was just feet away from Wright when he was hit.
"Still can't believe it. Disbelief that he was hit and struck and the person didn't even have the decency enough to stop."
Police are checking businesses in the area to see if they might have surveillance cameras that captured video of the driver.
Wright ran unsuccessfully for mayor back in March and is currently a candidate for another City Commission seat.
