PA School Board Member Arrested in Florida for Rape of Teen Girl

DAVENPORT -- A Pennsylvania school board member is facing felony charges of sexual battery on an underage girl in Polk County.

Sheriff Grady Judd says a 17-year-old girl told a family friend that 34-year-old Andrew Freeman kissed her and put her hands under her clothing July 4th. That was after an adult walked in and saw the teen and Freeman almost nose-to-nose. She asked the victim what was going on. Freeman and the alleged victim were from out of town, visiting Davenport for a reunion of friends and family.

Detectives say Freeman eventually admitted to assaulting the girl, saying "mistakes were made." He also allegedly told them, "this is not good," referring to his elected office as a member of the Mount Lebanon School Board near Pittsburgh.

Sheriff Judd said Freeman "violated the trust of his friends and the people who elected him... he sexually battered a child. What was he thinking?"

We have reached out to the Mt. Lebanon School District to determine Freeman's status.
