A South Florida pharmacist is one of 12 medical professionals facing federal charges for unlawful distribution of opioids.

The U.S. Justice Department accuses Casey Kelleher of Lake Worth Beach of selling hundreds of thousands of powerful opioids on the black market from 2019 through last year.

The charges stem from the 43-year-old 's ownership and operation of Neighborhood Pharmacy in Boynton Beach, which is now closed.

Investigators say it was by far the largest purchaser of oxycodone and hydromorphone in its zip code.
