Florida 12-Year Old Charged After SnapChat Threat On His School

A social media post threatening a shooting at his school landed a 12-year old Pinellas County boy in custody.

The message on SnapChat stated "Can't wait to see what happens today at school" followed by 12 pistol emojis and the words "Here's a hint." It was spotted by another student, who tipped off a school resource officer.

The Seminole Middle School student admitted to sending the message, claiming he was upset about a recent break-up, but didn't mean what he wrote.

He's charged with "False report concerning the use of firearms."

Deputies advised the boy's parents to make sure he does not have access to any firearms.
