The Sharpest Decreases In Unemployment Claims Reported In Florida

Another poor jobs report released as states begin reopening their economies.

The Labor Department reporting another three-point-two-million Americans filed first-time unemployment claims last week, pushing the number of unemployed to more than 33-million since the coronavirus pandemic began. The biggest increases in claims were in Georgia, New York and Alabama. The sharpest decreases were in Florida, California and New Jersey. Florida International University's Jose Gabilondo says because of all the snafu's with Florida's unemployment website, he doubts the Florida numbers are accurate. Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered the inspector general to formally investigate the broken 7-year-old system.
