Governor Announces Website For Coronavirus Information

Governor Ron DeSantis is reassuring Floridians that all levels of state government are working together to respond to a potential outbreak of COVID-19 coronavirus. He says there have been no cases of coronavirus diagnosed in Florida since the outbreak started in China.

Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees encourages people to get in the habit of washing their hands more frequently and avoiding others if they become ill.

Rivkees says you're more likely to get influenza than COVID-19, so get your flu shot as soon as possible.

Rivkees also said that COVID-19 is not a death sentence. He says 80-percent of people who are diagnosed can be treated just by staying home and staying hydrated.

To stop the spread of misinformation, Governor DeSantis says up-to-date information about the state's response to the outbreak is being posted online at the health department's website. Find the information here.
