- Florida has reached at least a 9-year high in property listings according to Realtor.com. In the latest report nearly 169,000 properties statewide were listed for sale. The highest since the number began being tracked by Realtor.com. Area locations with among the highest increases in listings year-over-year include Tequesta, Greenacres and Royal Palm Beach.
- West Palm Beach is now the top trending destination in the United States for travelers according to Trip Advisor and has been featured in Travel & Leisure Magazine. The combination of convenience, amenities and culture are cited as reasons. While not cited in the article, the proximity to Palm Beach and renewed interest in President Trump and Mar-a-Lago is likely a contributing factor.
- The Palm Beach Gardens City council will take up the issue of future transportation plans for Seminole Pratt Whitney road amid a disagreement with the County about how to proceed with expansion plans to ease traffic congestion. The County seeks to extend Seminole Pratt Whitney Road to Avenir Drive. The City’s current framework calls for the expansion of Seminole Pratt without the connection to Avenir. Today’s meeting will take place at 6 pm.
- South Florida is under a Fire Weather Watch today. The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Watch for the TriCounty, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade, as a combination of dry conditions and high winds are conducive for wildfires. Officials advise against any outdoor burning today.
- Cool, sunny and windy today with highs in the low 70’s – cooler than usual for this date. Similar weather is expected for Friday before a significantly warmer weekend.
- The price of gas rose by five cents per gallon for the second consecutive day following lows reached to start the week. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.13 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.28 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.18 and in Indian River County the average is $3.14 per gallon.
