A Tale of Two Americas - President Trump’s Address to Congress – Top 3 Takeaways – March 5th, 2025
- Which America represents you? One of the great ironies of last night’s address happened before the start of the address. Democrat Melanie Stansbury held a sign next to President Trump as he entered the chamber that said... “This is not normal”. This from a woman who supports open borders, abortion on demand, and transgendered men pretending to women competing against girls (among other things). Perhaps the “This” she was referring to was herself. Perhaps it was what was to come with side show Al Green who had to be ousted from the chamber during Trump’s speech. Or maybe it was about her entire party as was about to be seen given their abhorrent conduct throughout the entirety of Trump’s address. President Trump’s first presidential address of his second term covered a lot of ground. Closed border? Check. Laken Riley Act passed. Check. Gangs designated as foreign terrorist organizations? Check. An end to DEI? Check. No more men pretending to be women competing athletically with girls? Check. Protecting children against medical gender mutilation? Check. English as the official language? Check. End of the weaponization of government. Check. DOGE savings. Check. These are all among the things that Trump has already done and topics he touched on in last night’s address. The pursuit of tax cuts, including no taxes tips, overtime or Social Security. Check. That’s next. Taking back the Panama Canal too. That’s one of the to do’s. Taking down terrorists? Check. Supporting our police and honoring the families of the fallen? Check. Supporting Israel against Hamas and bringing peace to the region? Check. An end to the Russia-Ukraine war? Check. Now here’s the thing. Do you support all of that? Do you support some of that? Is there at least something there you think is worth supporting? Well, not Democrats. Democrats made it clear that they don’t support tax cuts. Democrats don’t support combating drug cartels. Democrats don’t support closing the border. Democrats didn’t even express support for peace. And just how petty are the elected Democrats who were present in that chamber? Democrats wouldn't even stand Laken Riley’s family. And so last night, what was clear was the America that actually represents you and your interests...unless you’re, say the author of the transgendered Peruvian comic book hero that we’d been funding through USAID along with a host of other absurd things – many of which were specifically cited by the president. But also, last night’s address to congress presented as clear of a contrast as we’ve ever had in this country, for you, and for that matter the world to see. Do you want to be part of the country that fights for those objectives? Are you the kind of person who celebrates those victories and would stand to honor victims and their families...or are you part of the most miserable group of people I’ve ever seen? The group that hooted and hollered and protested with signs? The group that found no joy in anything. TDS is as real as it’s ever been but more importantly, Democrats have shown that they oppose absolutely anything that President Trump supports – which means they’ve sunken to new lows as they demonstrated an opposition to peace, prosperity, security and victims families. It’s no longer just a tale of two political parties and two political agendas. It’s become a tale of two Americas. Which one do you choose? Actually we’ve already seen. The first accredited flash polling is in from President Trump’s address by YouGov. 76% of voters approved of President Trump’s speech while only 23% disapproved. That means over three quarters of this country, regardless of political parties, stood with Trump and with those issues and for victims families while fewer than a quarter were with the miserable people in pink. Meanwhile...
- Two steps ahead. The man is always two steps ahead. Donald Trump isn’t just the best negotiator of our time; he’s the most strategically successful president of our time. He’s the president who’s two steps ahead of most of us meaning he’s at least three steps ahead of the boobs who cover him in the news and perhaps four ahead of the DNC. In my Top 3 Takeaways from Monday, I said this about Friday’s Oval Office showdown. <<Zelenskyy either isn’t especially perceptive, isn’t intelligent, isn’t strategic, or potentially all three. What happened on Friday was devastating. Not for Donald Trump. Not for the United States. Not even for the feakless EU. It was devastating for Zelenskyy and for Ukrainians. Where will Ukraine be in four years without the United States? How about Zelenskyy – would he even be in the country or become a refugee? Zelenksyy repeatedly said that he needed defense guarantees for a deal, that otherwise there couldn’t be peace because Putin couldn’t be trusted with a ceasefire deal; because he’d broken them previously. Trump said but he hadn’t broken them with him, which Zelensky didn’t want to hear. Here’s why. If Zelenskyy was really interested in peace he’d have taken the deal in a heartbeat. Why? Because if the US has boots on the ground in Ukraine in the form of miners and construction workers (and their security teams) doesn’t that in effect present itself as a defense guarantee? Is Russia going to break a cease fire with Ukraine that would mean attacking Americans on the ground? Of course not. Now what’s interesting isn’t how this plays in the US, but instead in Ukraine. I can’t imagine the average Ukrainian can be thrilled with Zelenskyy burning a potential path towards peace via a bridge he set on fire with President Trump and the United States. Don’t be surprised if he’s forced to come back to Trump’s table to take the deal that Trump has since taken off of it.>> On Monday President Trump pressed his position further by pausing the existing aid to Ukraine which served two purposes. First, how many Americans knew that the US under President Trump had still been providing Ukraine until he paused it? Second, Zelenskyy can flee to the EU anytime he chooses to receive hugs, loves and warm plugs in the news – which was played up all through the weekend. But what he can’t do with weak and feakless Labor Party and EU leaders is anything that actually matters. And with that said, by Tuesday morning we heard this via a post from Zelenskyy on X: I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace. None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians.
- My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts. Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively. And that set the stage for what happened next at the President’s address as Trump welcomed the message from Zelenskyy and indicated that Russia has also now indicated that they’re ready for peace. It’s a plan coming together. A plan to Make America Great Again but also to make the world safer once again. It took Trump only a matter of months to put an end to the ISIS caliphate and to bring about relative world peace his first time around. That may be all he needs to restore it this time around.
