WATCH: Millennial Mom Translates Kids’ Gen Alpha Slang

Are you totally confused by the language your kid uses? That’s completely understandable if you’ve heard the way Gen Alpha talks.

Millennial mom and TikToker Jennifer Maxwell admits she has “no idea” what her 10-year-old daughter is “saying half the time anymore,” and compares her “weird words” to a “foreign language.”

To shed some light on the new slang used by her daughter and friends, Jennifer asked the girl for help. In a hilarious clip, the mom tries to guess what the terms mean and her daughter defines them.

  • Sigma” - Besides knowing it’s a letter in the Greek alphabet, the mom is stumped by this term, which her Gen Alpha kid explains means someone is “the best of the best,” like calling them an “Alpha.”
  • Rizz” - Jennifer is proud of herself for knowing this one, which is short for “charisma,” or a “smooth talker.” The 10-year-old adds that it means being able to “pull someone,” and her mom teases, “You’re 10, who you pulling?”
  • Rizzlers” - Mom guesses it’s a “pack or crew” of people with rizz, but her daughter is kind of vague with this one, saying if you ask “where the rizzlers,” you’re asking where the people with a lot of rizz are.
  • Ohio” - Jennifer thinks it means something good, but her kid explains, “Ohio means you’re weird and you’re dumb.”
  • Skibbidi” or “skibbidi toilet” - According to this 10-year-old slang expert, it’s a reference to a viral meme of someone’s head coming out of a toilet. Calling someone that means they’re “weird” and if you say, “You got that Ohio skibbidi toilet rizz,” it means they don’t have any rizz, the girl says.
  • Mewing” - The mom says her son and daughter do a gesture with their finger brushing their cheek when they say this one, but the kid says it means to “work on your jawline.”
  • Chad Alpha” - Jennifer guesses it’s negative, based on Taylor Swift’s reference to “Dads, Brads and Chads,” but her pre-teen says it means to be the “leader” or the “best person.”
