Two brazen burglars in Florida were arrested after cops spotted them driving around with a "stolen tag" etched in cardboard, according to law enforcement.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office was looking for suspects who targeted several homes and stole belongings, including a firearm and jewelry, between January 2 and January 4. Surveillance video gave deputies a description of the perpetrators plus the vehicle they were riding in: a maroon Dodge RAM with a piece of cardboard displaying the details of a stolen tag.

Authorities said they found the pickup on Pineda Causeway, where the suspects were trying to replace the cardboard tag with the vehicle's real license plate. Dashcam footage shows deputies pulling up to the Dodge and immediately apprehending the driver. The passenger thought he could sneak away from the cops, as the video shows, but he was taken into custody, as well.

The suspects were identified as Chad Doulette of The Villages (the driver) and Anthony Sosa of Lake Mary. Deputies also recovered a handgun and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from the truck.

Doulette and Sosa were previously convicted of attempted burglary and grand theft, respectively, in Lee County, according to the sheriff's office. Now, they're facing charges of armed burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft, and more.
