Miami native and Marlins player Eddy Alvarez will be helping lead the American athletes into Olympic Stadium on Friday in the Opening Ceremony.
The USA Baseball Team infielder and four-time Olympic Champion basketball player Sue Bird have been selected as Team USA flag bearers.
Alvarez becomes the first athlete representing baseball to carry the U.S. flag in the Opening Ceremony.
He previously won a silver medal in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in short track speedskating.
