The Florida Department of Health reported 5,065 new COVID cases on Thursday. That brought the weekly average for daily cases to 4,632, that's the lowest since November 4th.

Nearly 3.9 million total vaccinations have now taken place for COVID-19. The FDOH’s most recent vaccine report showed nearly 2.1 million Floridians have completed a two-dose vaccination process with the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines and 36,083 received the one-dose J&J vaccine.

Governor DeSantis further elaborated on eligibility guidelines for vaccines saying it’s likely all Floridians will be eligible for a vaccine in April. The age for eligibility will be lowered to 60 next week.

US News and World Report ranked Florida as the 10th “best” state in the US. That’s Florida’s highest ranking in the annual study which ranks states based on eight criteria. Florida ranked 33rd in opportunity, 26th in crime, 25th in health care, 20th in infrastructure, 18th on the environment, 8th on both the economy and fiscal stability and 3rd in education.
