Tony Beats Israel In Broward Sheriff's Race

Broward County's sheriff appears to be on his way to making history.

Sheriff Gregory Tony won yesterday's Democratic primary over former Sheriff Scott Israel.

Tony advances to November's general election against Republican H. Wayne Clark, and if Tony wins, he'll be the first African-American to be elected sheriff in county history.

Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Tony to sheriff last year after removing Israel over his handling of the Parkland school shooting.
