Decorate For Christmas Early; It's Good For You

Once upon a time, we scoffed at the idea of Christmas music being played right around Halloween. Just like we complained about Christmas decorations in September. But here’s the thing. The reason those things happen is because they work. There’s an audience and strong customer base that drives those decisions.

According to a study published in the Journal of Environmental Policy, decorating for the holidays generally makes us positively nostalgic, places us in a positive mood and creates a sense of excitement. It's not just us either. Our neighbors are happier too. People who decorate their homes are viewed as being friendlier according to the study. So, if you’d like to embrace the holidays sooner, go ahead and do it! You’ll probably be happier and make others happier as well.
