Visiting Public Parks Spreads Christmas Cheer

A day in the park could be better than Christmas, at least when it comes to your mental health.

Researchers at the University of Vermont found that Twitter users who visited a city park used more positive language and expressed less negativity up to four hours after their visit.

The researchers noticed that the spike in positive social media activity was so significant, it rivaled the good vibes felt in Christmas Day tweets.

The information could help urban planners design communities of the future.
