Fermented Dairy Products Could Improve Heart Health

Stinky cheese could be good for your heart.

Researchers at the University of Eastern Finland found that fermented dairy products like cheese, yogurt, and sour milk could lower your risk of coronary heart disease.

At the same time, they warn that very high consumption of NON-fermented dairy products, like plain milk, could have the opposite effect and increase the risk of heart disease.

For participants who consumed fermented dairy products with less than 3.5% fat content, the risk of heart attack was 26% lower in the highest consumption group compared to the lowest consumption group.
