Trappers at the Big Cypress National Preserve confirm that they just caught the largest python ever found slithering through the swamp.
The 17-foot, 140-pound snake was carrying more than 70 developing eggs when she was found.
Trappers used a new technique to find the super-sized snake.
They outfit male pythons with radio transmitters so they can locate breeding females.
The invasion of the non-native snake species is blamed for killing many small deer and other animals usually found in the sprawling preserve.
