The 11th Annual Miami Beach Gay Pride event is action-packed with social mixers, dance events, a VIP gala, spicy vendors and parades.
Last year over 145,000 people attended, 35 floats and 3,000 parade participants filled Ocean Drive. Organizers say they are prepared for a high turnout this year.
Starting at noon on April 7, the Art Deco district will be closed to traffic and open wide for the 11th annual Miami Beach Pride Parade.
Other weekend festivities include a two-day festival on Saturday and Sunday at Lummus Park that features two stages. The festival will feature 125 booths, food and cocktails.
Event highlights include; a musical performance by Gloria Estefan's daughter, Emily. She is also scheduled to host a happy hour with complimentary Tito's drinks from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at The Standard Spa at 40 Island Ave., in Miami Beach. Tickets are are $35 on Eventbrite.
The ELEGANT GALA is hosted by Morgan Stanley at the Emanuel Luxury Venue at 1723 Washington Ave., in South Beach. Marcus Tyrell, Beth Sacks and Randolph Ward will be performing. Tickets cost $125 on Brown Paper Tickets.
The FLING PARTY for lesbians will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the rooftop of The Palace at 1052 Ocean Dr. in South Beach. Admission is free.
Producers Jake Resnicow and Scott Hauser are hosting a party with DJ Anne Louise from The Week Brazil, De Felipe from Madrid, Deejay Smeejay and DJ Theresa at the Basement Miami from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the Edition Hotel, 2901 Collins Ave.Ticket costs range from $35-$49, which include free cocktails from 11 p.m. until midnight.
