Florida Legislative Session – Human Trafficking Education

Here's the daily recap of some of the notable developments from Florida’s session. So, let’s get to it. 

On Monday:

  • A bill preventing municipal governments from regulating rentals was approved by a House Committee. That’s likely to be tweaked before advancing to a full vote.
  • A bill to mandate Human trafficking education cleared the 2nd of three House committees.
  • A bill advanced on a 5-3 vote in a Senate committee to overhaul Florida’s no-fault/PIP auto insurance mandate.
  • A state Senate committee advanced a bill that segues with the recently passed Amendment 11 allowing retroactive sentencing based on new guidelines for those sentenced on similar crimes.
