'Stopwatch Bandit' Targets 2 Banks in Florida

A man dubbed by the FBI as the "Stopwatch Bandit" targeted two banks this morning in Miami-Dade County.

Authorities say the first robbery was reported at 9:30 a.m. at 16200 NW 57th Ave. in Miami Lakes.

The second bank, a Chase branch, was targeted at 10:15 a.m. near NW 199th St.

"He was wearing an Adidas hoodie, demanded money from bank employees in each incident and showed them a stopwatch app on his cellphone that appeared to be counting down," said FBI spokesman Jim Marshall.

Customers were inside both banks, but no one was injured.

If you have any information on the man's identity, contact the FBI at 754-703-2000 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
