Police say a Florida man gave them an elaborate and bogus story to avoid going to work.

Brian Anderson didn't want to show up for his shift at a Hardee's restaurant. Instead of calling his manager to ask for a replacement, he dialed 911 instead.

Polk County Sheriff's Office said the 32-year-old told dispatch he'd just been robbed. When deputies arrived to the scene they realized Anderson's story didn't add up.

The resident of Dundee said on the recording that two men carrying guns took his necklace, money and his phone before jumping into a car and driving away.

In a Facebook post, PCS officials said Anderson confessed, adding that "on the bright side, Brian didn't have to go to his 11 a.m. shift at the restaurant."
