President Trump will make his first visit to Lake Okeechobee on Friday.
The president is expected to return to South Florida late Thursday night.
Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere says the president is making the trip to "tout work on dike repair" projects that are underway.
The president is also expected to talk about a reservoir proposal that could help eliminate the problem of blue-green algae that plagues both coasts.
