Davie Police say four people conned an 80-year-old woman of more than $18,000 in jewelry by promising to share their lottery winnings with her.
According to investigators, two women approached the victim in the parking of a Publix in the 8000 block of West State Road 84 Feb. 22.
The scammers told her they won $10,000 and needed help to redeem the lottery ticket. The suspects and the victim then drove to the senior citizen's home, where they stole her jewelry.
Davie Police say the other two suspects, a man, and a woman, were also involved acting as lookouts. Video surveillance from the Publix parking lot revealed all four suspects arrived in a white, newer model Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
