Broward School Board to Vote On Superintendent's Future

The Broward School Board is voting today on a proposal to oust Superintendent Robert Runcie.

School board member Lori Alhadeff put the item on today's agenda.

Alhadeff's daughter, Alyssa, is one of the 17 victims murdered in last year's school shooting in Parkland.

Alhadeff is expected to lay out a series of reasons why Runcie's contract should be terminated.

Supporters of the embattled superintendent say Runcie is making improvements throughout the district and this is not the time to change leadership.

Runcie may have enough votes on the board to keep his job.

Five of the nine members of previously said they want him to stay.

The meeting starts at 10 and the full agenda can be found here.
