You may want to pedal instead of putting the pedal to the metal today. It's Bike305 "Bike To Work Day" Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces hosting the event, kicking off a calendar of cycling activities throughout March----dubbed "Bike305 Month" Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez says biking is a great way to reduce traffic congestion and stress, especially if you can ride to public transportation and commute from there. This year, three new municipalities, the Village of Virginia Gardens, Bal Harbour Village and North Bay Village, have joined the movement and will be recognized. Throughout the year, cycling events that explore trails and greenways are held as well as programs that teach safe cycling skills to kids and adults. Twenty-six municipalities are currently partnered with the"Bike305" movement and the goal is to have all 34 municipalities on board within the next several years.
