Amendments Combining Unrelated Topics To Remain On November Ballot

Three amendments that each combine unrelated topics will remain on Florida's November ballot.

On Thursday, the state Supreme Court overturned a ruling by a Leon County circuit judge that would have blocked amendments 7, 9, and 11.

Amendment 9, for example, seeks to ban offshore oil drilling and vaping or use of electronic cigarettes in workplaces.

But the justices ruled that the Florida Constitution and state law do not bar the bundling of multiple issues into single ballot measures.
