Authorities have arrested a 72-year-old man responsible for a Monday hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in northwest Miami-Dade County.
Leon Morton is charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing serious injury.
Miami-Dade Police detectives said a 54-year-old woman was crossing the street in the 4700 Northwest 32nd Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. when she was struck by a red Toyota Tundra.
Paramedics took the woman to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Her current condition is unknown.
The incident was captured on surveillance video from a nearby business.
Investigators used the video to locate the vehicle and identify the driver.
