The Democratic Party of Florida is suing Florida's Secretary of State demanding that Tuesday's voter registration deadline be extended by a week in the areas of the state that are affected by Hurricane Michael.
The lawsuit claims thousands of eligible voters' 1st and 14th amendment rights are being violated because they don't have an opportunity to sign up since they're preparing for Michael's arrival.
Micahel is expected to make landfall in Florida's Panhandle area on Wednesday.
