Broward School Board Taking A Closer Look At Mental Health Practices

On Tuesday morning, the Broward County School Board is taking a closer look at the mental health services that it provides to students and staff.

Documents recommend that the district spend $200-million on psychologists, counselors, nurses and therapists.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, the district currently has one school psychiatrist for every two-thousand students.

The Broward School Board will be examining their current clientele and procedures and will discuss what changes need to be implemented moving forward for the safety of its students and staff.
