Hurricane Michael Pumps The Brakes On Florida Campaign Trail

Thanks to Hurricane Michael, Governor Rick Scott and Mayor Andrew Gillum are leaving the campaign trail and returning to their day jobs in Tallahassee.

Scott, who is running for the U.S. Senate, came back to the capitol on Sunday, declared a state of emergency in 26 Panhandle and Big Bend counties, and held a briefing Monday morning in Bay County.

Gillum, who is running for governor, has canceled campaign appearances in South Florida for Monday and Tuesday so he can concentrate on preparing for the arrival of the storm on Wednesday.
