Florida U.S. Senator Bill Nelson's re-election campaign says a claim that their candidate is trying to back out of a debate is false.
Republican challenger Rick Scott made that accusation in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The two are scheduled to face off on CNN on October 16th at 10 p.m. The Nelson campaign says it tried to move the debate to an earlier time, but that Scott and CNN would not agree to that.
