Testing for red tide is underway at the beaches of Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
Currents have apparently carried the toxic algae that's littered Gulf Coast beaches with dead sea life to the Atlantic side of the state.
Health officials say some test results could be available later today.
Several beaches remain closed today in Palm Beach County, where the presence of red tide was confirmed earlier this week.
