Americans can fly the friendly skies into Cuba on a daily basis starting next year.
The Department of Transportation has green-lighted the American Airlines Miami-Santiago de Cuba route to start up next year.
Currently U.S. travelers who want to visit eastern Cuba must fly into Holguín, a more than two-hour drive from Santiago de Cuba.
The route from Miami International Airport to Santiago on May 3, 2019, will be American’s sixth destination in Cuba.
