A crash involving a tractor-trailer has closed a major roadway in Miami-Dade County.
At least one victim was airlifted to the hospital as a result of the crash.
The scene was set Tuesday at Florida’s Turnpike northbound near the off-ramp to I-75. A trailer could be seen next to a badly damaged SUV after the crash around 11 a.m.
A Miami-Dade Police helicopter landed in the lanes to take one person from a waiting ambulance to an area hospital.
Officials have not released any information on the victims involved or what caused the crash.
One northbound lane of the Turnpike reopened around 12:15 p.m. while the off-ramp remains closed at this time.
