Survey Says Floridians Will Not Leave During Next Big Storm

As Hurricane Florence heads for the Carolinas, a new survey shows that many Floridians have no intention of leaving their home the next time they face a storm.

Former Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director Craig Fugate says one out of four residents plan to ignore evacuation orders even if a Category 4 hurricane is approaching.

Fugate says the survey also shows many people seem to have forgotten about the dangers of using emergency generators after the storm.

The carbon monoxide fumes can be deadly if they get into your home.
