The unemployment rate remains unchanged at 3.9 percent with the economy adding 201,000 jobs in August.
While that's 6,000 jobs more than analysts predicted, they also expected the jobless rate to fall to an 18-year low of three-point-eight percent.
The biggest gains in new jobs were in professional and business services, healthcare, and wholesale trade.
Florida's unemployment rate was 3.7 percent in July.
August's unemployment numbers will be released in two weeks.
