Florida's Lobster Mini-Season Kicks Off At Midnight

It's time to gas up the boat and get the traps baited.

Florida's lobster mini-season kicks off just after midnight and runs through Thursday.

Divers with recreational saltwater fishing licenses can only bag six of the tasty crustaceans per day in Biscayne National Park and Monroe County.

It's a dozen a day for the rest of the state.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials will be out in force checking to make sure the bodies of the spiny lobsters - not counting the tails - are at least three inches long.
